CHOOSE YOUR GOD
"If it is displeasing to you to serve the LORD, choose today whom you will serve." (Joshua 24:15), says Israelite General Joshua as he reaffirms the covenant between God and God's People. If it sounds like something Moses would say, that's because Joshua used to be Moses' first in command.
Choosing one's God is the most vital discernment of a lifetime. And it's a choice we all have to make.
Plenty of gods exist for the choosing. Each demands the blood price of our total allegiance. Will we center our lives on power, wealth, status, pleasure, or the admiration or envy of others? Or will our focus be on loving service? If we're unsure where our true attraction lies, we only have to make a few calculations. Where do we spend our time? Where does our money go? What holds center stage in our hearts?
